Description from the seller
This is a vintage Georg Jensen Christmas pipe, crafted in shape number 748.
The pipe was made by the renowned Danish pipe manufacturer Georg Jensen, which was founded in Copenhagen in 1954 by Per Georg Jensen (unrelated to the silver company). The brand became highly respected worldwide for its lightweight, exceptionally well-balanced, and classic Danish designs.
The Series (JUL): This pipe is part of their highly collectible annual "JUL" (Christmas) series. These pipes were released as limited seasonal editions, making them sought-after pieces today for collectors of Danish estate pipes.
Shape Number 748: The stamp 748 designates the specific shape of the pipe. In Danish pipe manufacturing, this number represents a classic, straight Billiard shape. It features a perfectly straight shank and a beautifully proportioned, cylindrical bowl.
Materials: The bowl is made from high-quality briar wood (bruyere) with a smooth, polished brown finish that highlights the natural, tight vertical grain. The stem is made of black vulcanite or acrylic and features the distinctive, vertically aligned "GJ" ligature logo stamped on the side of the mouthpiece.
