A decorative console table in silver, made of solid aluminium, dating from 1975–1985, with a height of 43 cm, width of 48 cm and depth of 20 cm, weighing about 2 kg, origin unknown, in good used condition with minor signs of age, one piece.
Description from the seller
Very decorative console. The console (consolle) is cast from solid aluminum. The height from the supporting leg to the top is 43 cm (the height of the table obviously depends on the height at which it is hung), the width of the top is 48 cm and the depth is 20 cm. It weighs almost 2 kg.
The console has a classic appearance and probably dates from the 1980s. You could call the style Postmodernism or Hollywood Regency.
The side table fits with any kind of decor, but in a Hollywood Regency setting it really comes into its own. It still looks good, and has only normal signs of use. The aluminum here and there has a slightly dull finish (see photos). This is typical for metals such as aluminum but also for copper or brass. This is a natural patina of aluminum oxide, which can be removed by polishing the aluminum, but that is not necessary at all; the material looks quite attractive in this state.
Under the console you can see a rough finish of the table. Here and there you can see grinding marks where casting residues were ground away with grinding discs directly after casting. The underside is also rough and not polished (see photos).
The console can be taken apart into two parts to make the package compact. After arrival it is easy and quick to reassemble (with 2 screws).
The table is carefully packed and insured for shipment.
