Description from the seller

A beautiful and authentic Lalique France “Oeillets” solifleur vase, crafted in pale pink moulded crystal with an elegant combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces.

“Oeillets” is the French word for carnations. A sculptural band of deeply moulded flowers surrounds the narrow neck, while the faceted body is divided by pronounced vertical ribs. The flared mouth is decorated with a stylised floral pattern and finished with a polished rim. The contrast between the frosted body, polished details and delicate pink colour creates the refined play of light associated with Lalique crystal.

The underside is hand-engraved “Lalique France”. There is no “R.” before the Lalique name. This indicates that the vase belongs to the post-war production of Maison Lalique, after the death of René Lalique in 1945. Based on the signature, material and design, the vase is conservatively dated to approximately 1950–1980. The exact production year cannot be determined from the signature alone.

The Oeillets design reflects Lalique’s celebrated tradition of translating flowers and natural forms into sculptural glass and crystal. The pale pink version is less commonly encountered than clear examples and beautifully accentuates the floral relief and satin texture.
