This Brazilian vintage serving tray is made of wood and dates from 1970 to 1980.
Description from the seller
For sale is a beautiful, rare vintage serving tray from Brazil, crafted in elaborate handwork, estimated between the 1930s and 1950s.
This extraordinary piece of craftsmanship is a real eye-catcher and a coveted collector's item for lovers of Art Deco and curiosities (Cabinet of Curiosities).
Features & Details:
• Real butterfly wings: The motif under glass shows an artistic map of South America as well as two landscape scenes (including Rio de Janeiro / Santos). The intensely shimmering blue is produced by real, natural Morpho butterfly wings, which iridesce magically depending on the light.
• High-quality marquetry: The frame consists of noble Brazilian hardwood and is adorned along the edge with delicate wood inlays.
• Rare original manufacturer label: On the back is still the original paper label from the well-known gallery “La Florida” by Joaquim Pereira from Santos (Rua João Otávio 52). This makes the piece historically verifiable and especially valuable for collectors!
Condition:
The tray is in a good / age-appropriate used vintage condition. The striking blue of the wings is well preserved. The wooden frame shows no / age-typical signs of wear. The glass is intact. Please refer to the attached photos for exact details.
