Description from the seller
Up for auction today is a Vintage 1977 Philipp Hammig 900 Silver Flute, handmade professional concert flute manufactured in Markneukirchen, Germany. The Hammig instrument dynasty spans ten generations, known for handcrafted professional flutes and piccolos. Their instruments are highly regarded among advanced and professional players. This flute is no exception.
Condition: This flute is in great condition considering its age. This is a rare and unique instrument, making it particularly interesting to professional flautists and collectors. The flute is made entirely of solid silver, including the headjoint, body, footjoint, and key mechanism crafted from silver with a fineness of 900/1000. The instrument features a C footjoint with D♯ and C♯ rollers, a high G/A trill key, and closed-hole keys. Its offset G mechanism incorporates an extended G key and a G♯ lever, providing a more comfortable hand position and reducing strain on the wrist. The key mechanism is fitted with Y-style key arms, and all keys are reported to move smoothly and freely. The flute has medium-wall tubing with a thickness of 0.016 inches (approximately 0.406 mm). It is designed for a modern pitch standard of A = 444 Hz, although it can also be played at A = 442 Hz. With its solid-silver construction and professional specifications, the Hammig is an interesting instrument for professional performers and collectors alike. Overall, this is a wonderful flute for sure that would make a great addition for a professional and/or collector, so don't miss out!
Included: case & cover
