This lot comprises two nautical-style objects from circa 1850–1900: a brass-framed mirror and a brass oil lamp.
Description from the seller
The presented lot is a wonderful piece suitable for use in the bedroom as a complement in the bathroom near the tub. The lot comprises a porthole-style nautical mirror, crafted with a striking circular brass frame with a vintage finish. This type of furnishing accessory originally came from the historic windows of ships and is characterized by visible perimeter screws, the upper hinge, and the two threaded latches placed on the lower sides to open it. Instead of the classic transparent boat glass, it features a central antique-made mirror that over time has developed a marvelous circular vintage patina, as seen in the photos. The back of the mirror is lined with genuine suede and bears the removable adhesive mark of the restorer. Main Features Material: Solid brass with golden/antique finish. Style: Industrial, vintage, or nautical. Functionality: In most models the upper flange is equipped with a functional hinge, allowing manual opening of the mirror; it is supported by a brass stand as well.
The other object in the image is a brass oil lamp with a lit red candle inserted on the pointed nozzle. This item blends classic design with decorative functionality. Main features Traditional form: recalls the classic “Aladdin’s lamp” style. Dual function: Oil lamp structure with an added stand for candles and, inside, can hold scents or any cosmetic or personal care substance. Material: Made of solid brass. Movable elements: Equipped with a removable central cap with a knob.
Dimensions Mirror: 26x25x6 cm, 1.9 kg Lamp container: 30x16x10 cm, 2 kg
