AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A splendid and authentic pair of Art Deco bookends from the early 20th century (circa 1920-1930). These heavy bookends are a beautiful example of the geometric vocabulary that is so characteristic of the Art Deco period.
Geographic and historical origin of these bookends lies in the Franco-Belgian region and dates from the Art Deco period (1920s-1930s).
Weight 4.2 kilograms.
The objects are composed of different types of solid natural stone, with an elegant interplay; they are made from a combination of contrasting natural stone varieties, including notably veined black and white veined marble and a geometric element in beige and brown marble. Through the semicircular, layered shapes the supports have a very architectural and stylish appearance. Thanks to the substantial weight of the solid marble they are not only highly decorative, but also very functionally suitable for supporting heavy books on a sideboard, desk or in the bookshelf. A timeless addition to both a classic and a modern modernist interior.
The marble has a beautiful natural shine.
Please view the photos carefully for an accurate impression.
In good original condition with minimal signs of aging.
