This pair of Italian candelabra dates from 1960–1970 and is made of cast brass.
Description from the seller
Pair of table candelabras (or multi-flame candelabra). As seen in the photos, each piece is designed to hold up to 5 candles, or 6 if you remove the central removable finial (the upper decoration), a detail clearly shown in the photo.
Material: These are cast brass (or light bronze), treated with a dark patina in the recesses to enhance the reliefs.
Style: The style is a reproduction Baroque or Rococo, characterized by rich ornamental details, scrolls, moving animal-foot feet, and geometric/floral embossing on the shafts and the wax-catching dishes.
Dimensions: As clearly shown by the ruler in the photo, the overall height of the candelabras (not counting the curved green candles) is about 45-47 cm.
2. Historical Period
Although the forms recall the 17th or 18th century, these objects are not antiques from that era, but splendid reproductions from the second half of the 20th century (roughly the 1960s–1980s).
They were common decorative elements in Italian bourgeois homes to decorate sideboards, fireplaces, or formal dining tables. The precision of the joints (like the pin visible in the photo) and the casting type are typical of post-war Italian manufacturing productions (for example, the art foundries of northern or central Italy).
Complete with green candles. The twisted green candles are a lovely vintage touch that enhances their aesthetics!
