Detailed Description
An outstanding vintage bottle of The Dalmore 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, produced by Whyte & Mackay at The Dalmore Distillery in Alness, Northern Highlands.

Whyte & Mackay acquired the historic Dalmore distillery in 1960 from the Mackenzie family. During the 1970s and 1980s, single malt bottlings from Dalmore were far more limited than today, making vintage 75cl expressions highly prized by collectors of old Scotch whisky.

Distilled using water from the River Averon and malted barley, this 12-Year-Old expression was aged in a combination of American white oak ex-bourbon casks and European ex-Oloroso sherry wood. Bottled at 75cl (750ml) and 43% ABV (a classic international export standard of the era), it yields the characteristic rich, viscous, and sherried profile that defined vintage Dalmore distillations.

In the glass, it presents a deep copper-amber hue. The bouquet opens with rich notes of orange marmalade, dark cocoa, toasted nuts, sweet spice, and old oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and mouth-coating, delivering flavors of dried figs, Christmas fruitcake, dark chocolate, and subtle coffee, leading into a long, warming finish.
