Detailed Description
An outstanding bottle of Knockando 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 1994 and bottled in the 2000s by Knockando Distillery in the heart of Speyside, Scotland.
Knockando (derived from the Scottish Gaelic Cnoc Channach, meaning "Little Green Hill") is famously known for its tradition of vintage dating its releases, bottlenecking only the contents of a single season or year’s distillation when the malt reaches peak maturity.
Matured for 12 years in selected ex-bourbon and sherry oak casks, the 1994 vintage exemplifies the signature light, fruity, and approachable style of classic Speyside malts.
In the glass, it presents a delicate pale amber-gold color. The nose opens with inviting aromas of fresh blossom, sweet cereal malt, orchard apples, toasted hazelnut, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is smooth, light-to-medium-bodied, and harmonious, offering flavors of honeyed almonds, soft oak spice, candied citrus peel, and gentle fruitiness, leading into a clean, gentle, and elegantly balanced finish.
