This United States lot contains three .999 fine silver bars weighing 1 troy ounce each: two by Johnson Matthey and one by SilverTowne.
Description from the seller
An interesting lot is presented for auction: three fine silver bars, consisting of two Johnson Matthey bars and one SilverTowne bar, all with an indicated purity of .999 Fine Silver and a weight of 1 Troy Ounce (1 oz Troy) each. The lot thus represents a total of 3 Troy Ounces of .999 fine silver, making it an appealing opportunity for precious metals collectors as well as for investors and enthusiasts of silver bars from recognized manufacturers.
The two Johnson Matthey bars feature the traditional Johnson Matthey Assayers & Refiners design, with the JM logo, the inscription “JOHNSON MATTHEY ASSAYERS & REFINERS,” the indication “FINE SILVER .999” and “1 OUNCE TROY.” Each also bears individual serial numbers visible on the bars themselves, a particularly interesting feature for collectors of vintage Johnson Matthey bars. The bars are individually housed in protective plastic packaging, as visible in the photographs.
The third bar is from the well-known SilverTowne house, also bearing the indication of 1 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER. The front of the bar shows SilverTowne’s characteristic design, while the reverse features a decorative pattern and the manufacturer’s mark. This bar is also housed in a protective capsule or plastic packaging.
All three pieces are sold in this lot exactly as presented in the photographs. The packaging provides protection against scratches and handling, though it may show some marks, reflections or signs typical of storage. The surfaces of the bars themselves should be evaluated through the photographs, as there may be small marks or cosmetic signs resulting from time and storage.
This is a particularly attractive lot due to the combination of two Johnson Matthey bars, a historically well‑recognized name in the precious metals market, with a SilverTowne bar, giving the buyer three distinct pieces of fine silver. Each bar is marked as .999 Fine Silver and 1 oz Troy, with the lot totaling approximately 93.31 grams of fine silver, considering 1 Troy Ounce as 31.1035 g.
