Description from the seller
SKE - "Game Over?" - 05/10
Ultra limited edition of only 10 copies.
There was a time when losing a life meant only one thing: insert a coin and start again.
With Game Over?, SKE dives straight back into the DNA of the first arcade rooms. We find Pac-Man
, launched in a frantic escape, chased by the famous ghosts of the cult game. An instantly recognizable image for an entire generation that grew up to the rhythm of arcade cabinets, pixels and this universal obsession: holding on for a few more seconds before the Game Over.
But here, the game has changed.
Facing the colorful characters rises a huge pixelated skull, built like a digital apparition about to materialize. Below, a "LOADING..." bar seems to announce the next level... or perhaps the end of the game. SKE thus transforms a joyful memory of arcade culture into a darker, almost existential composition: continue to play, run, dodge the ghosts… until when?
The contrast between deep black, color projections, drips, urban textures, and the 8-bit aesthetic creates this characteristic meeting between popular culture, street art, and contemporary pop art.
SKE’s signature marks the work as part of an artistic process that develops its own reading of the icons of our collective memory.
Game Over? is not simply a nod to Pac-Man. It’s a piece of arcade culture filtered through street art, meant for those who recognize these ghosts immediately… and still remember the sound of a game restarting. Some collect images. Others collect memories of a generation.

Your work is shipped rolled and protected in a tube.
Upon receipt, remove it carefully and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing.

Personally, I use Leroy Merlin aluminum frames: simple, elegant and economical; they perfectly showcase the works.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic work.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year 2025, SKE’s value is rising noticeably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master contest (2023), then elected Discovery of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October; he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place in the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE has made his mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture work characterize a style now essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Awarded & Acclaimed Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work fits into a prestigious lineage. In his line, you can see the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversiveness of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to remix the Mona Lisa by Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons of our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from Nintendo and the mythical Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), through Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits alongside luxury and fashion logos. His paintings capture the "Hype" aesthetic: you encounter sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and high fashion (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also integrates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not forgetting mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy finish of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
