Description from the seller
An interesting lot consisting of three fine silver ingots is presented for auction, two Johnson Matthey ingots and one SilverTowne ingot, all with an indicated purity of .999 Fine Silver and a weight of 1 Troy ounce (1 oz Troy) each. The lot thus represents a total of 3 Troy ounces of .999 fine silver, making it an appealing opportunity for both precious metal collectors and investors, as well as fans of silver bars from recognized manufacturers.
The two Johnson Matthey ingots feature the well-known traditional Johnson Matthey Assayers & Refiners design, with the JM logo, the inscription “JOHNSON MATTHEY ASSAYERS & REFINERS,” the indication “FINE SILVER .999” and “1 OUNCE TROY.” They also show individual serial numbers visible on the bars themselves, a particularly interesting feature for collectors of vintage Johnson Matthey bars. The bars are individually housed in protective plastic packaging, as visible in the photographs.
The third ingot is from the well-known SilverTowne, also bearing the indication of 1 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER. The obverse of the ingot features SilverTowne’s characteristic design, while the reverse has a decorative pattern and the manufacturer’s mark. This ingot is also housed in a protective capsule or plastic packaging.
The three pieces are sold in this lot exactly as presented in the photographs. The packaging provides protection against scratches and handling, although it may show some marks, reflections or signs associated with storage. The surfaces of the ingots themselves should be evaluated through the photographs, as there may be small marks or cosmetic signs resulting from age and storage.
This is a particularly attractive lot due to the combination of two historically well-recognized Johnson Matthey ingots in the precious metals market, together with a SilverTowne ingot, offering the buyer three distinct pieces of fine silver. Each ingot is marked .999 Fine Silver and 1 oz Troy, corresponding to a total of approximately 93.31 grams of fine silver, based on 1 Troy ounce being 31.1035 g.
