Description from the seller

High-end costume jewelry link bracelet (couture jewelry) signed by the iconic Italian fashion house Gianni Versace. The piece is crafted from bright silver-tone metal (probably brass plated with rhodium or palladium, as was customary for the brand) and features an architectural design of articulated links.

Its structure alternates robust, plain rectangular links with square panels featuring a textured quilted background (matelassé or diamond pattern). The iconic Medusa head, an unmistakable symbol of the brand, stands out in three-dimensional relief at the center of each textured panel. It comes with its original black fabric dust bag, printed with the logo and designer’s name in gold-tone lettering.

During that decade (the legendary “Supermodel” era, with the likes of Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Naomi Campbell), Gianni designed large, metallic pieces full of iconography, intended to catch the light and stand out on the runway. This bracelet has exactly that theatrical appeal: it is heavy, noisy, and uses the Medusa logo in a bold, repeated three-dimensional format.

l Gianni Versace and the Medusa Legacy
Founded in Milan in 1978, the Versace fashion house redefined the glamour of the 1980s and 1990s by combining classic luxury with provocative boldness. Gianni Versace chose Medusa—a figure from Greek mythology—as the logo for his empire because, according to legend, anyone who looked at her was turned to stone, fell irrevocably in love, and had no chance of escape. This symbol represents the fatal, magnetic attraction that the designer wanted his clothes and jewelry to exert on the public.

The Hallmark and Dating
On the inner side of the clasp, a rectangular plate with beveled corners is soldered in place, bearing the inscription “GIANNI VERSACE” and, just below, “MADE IN ITALY.” The use of the full first and last name (“Gianni Versace”) instead of the shorter “Versace” (which the brand officially adopted for the most part after his tragic death in 1997) is a strong indication that this is an authentic piece from the golden age of the 1990s.

This description is for informational purposes only. Bidders are kindly asked to rely primarily on the attached photographs when assessing the condition, dimensions, and details of the piece. No complaints or claims will be accepted if they refer to any aspect or defect that is clearly shown in the images.
