In June 1989 the Leyland DAF 4-ton truck was selected to be the basis of the next generation of 4-ton trucks used by the British Army. The selection followed an arduous 'drive off' design contest between every wheel drive Bedford and Volvo trucks. Limited, the initial order was for 5.350 units and production started the same year. First produced vehicles were delivered in 1990. Deliveries were completed in the mid-1990s. This Leyland DAF T244 general utility truck is currently in service in the British Army, Royal Navy and Air Force. A small number of these trucks were exported to Brunei, Indonesia, Ireland, Kenya and Malaysia.

This Leyland T244 is coming directly from the MOD and is in wonderful condition.
