Joan Abelló i Prat, Mollet del Vallés, (Barcelona) 26th December 1922 - Barcelona, 25th December 2008 was a Spanish painter.


Museu Abelló - Mollet del Vallès.
He was initiated in the world of painting from a young age. During his training period, he started with Pere Pruna and Carles Pellicer, and he was influenced through the works that Joaquim Mir had made in Mollet del Vallés.

As many artists from the 20th century, Abelló passed by London, Belgium, Isle of Man, Paris... In the 1960s he came back to Mollet, where he became again interested by the landscapes of the Vallès and the Mediterranean, but he didn’t stop the long trips around Europe, Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco or Brazil. In parallel, Abelló developed his passion for collecting
