* Eugenius (Eugène) Rensburg was born in The Hague on 16 September 1872 and died in The Hague on 6 November 1956. 

He lived and worked in The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Frankfurt, Budapest, along the Rhine, Danube, Seine, the Thames in London and along the Zuiderzee. 
However, he lived in Rotterdam for most of his life. 

Eugene Rensburg was a student of the Quellinusschool (evening course) in Amsterdam and the academy for visual artists in The Hague (from circa 1890 on) under the direction of J. van Delden.
Painted, among others, cityscapes, aquaria and terraria, etc.

He has especially made a name for himself with his topographical pen drawings. He was also called a handy city draughtsman. 

The municipal archives of Delft have several drawings of him and the Tax Museum of Rotterdam has 5 beautiful watercolours of him.
