Beautiful oil on canvas by the famous Belgian artist Ernest van den Driessche.
This is an oil painting from his early period (dated 1939), in which Vanden Driessche relied on typical views from the Flemish Ardennes. Classical works by this naïve painter very rarely come onto the market.
This work shows the church of Heurne, a municipality just next to his hometown Eine.
The painting shows some craquelure, and a very small tear (hard to see).
