Antoine Barbier, born on May 10, 1859 in Saint-Symphorien-de-Lay and died on February 8, 1948 in Lyon, is a French orientalist painter and watercolourist.

In 1925 he obtained a silver medal at the Salon des artistes Français, of which he was a member, and was later placed in Out of Competition. Grand Prize of the Lyon Society of Fine Arts and medal of honour, he became president of the Lyon branch of the Society of Friends of French Painters and Sculptors.

Member of the Lyon Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, he has exhibited, among others, at the Winter Show, the Salon des landscapers Français, in Lyon, Algiers, Geneva, Saint-Etienne, etc.

His works are kept in the Carnavalet Museum, in Lyon, Bern, Brussels, Oxford, Algiers, Cairo, etc.

He also decorated the Roanne Chamber of Commerce.
