VINTAGE ALESSI '9091' KETTLE DESIGNED BY RICHARD SAPPER. 

First edition of 1983, with a thick brass base, and an early font for the Alessi brand name (hard to find).

The 9091 kettle has a melodic whistle made of brass in a shape that has never been seen before and consisting of two small vents in which the tuners that reproduce the notes mi and si are inserted. Richard Sapper created this kettle inspired by a childhood remembrance, the poetic sound of boats' sirens at River Rhine: this is because the melody that accompanies the vapour outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. This kettle is a polysensory object which will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle, but with a captivating melody.


- Diameter : 16,5 cm. 
- Height : 19,5 cm. 
- Kettle is made of stainless steel, brass and PA.

- In good condition, fitting for its age (40 years) and use (some scratches on the surface, and the spring of the whistle needs to be replaced).
