1956 Mercedes-Benz 220 S Ponton in very good condition.

Used for the first time in Spain. The car belonged to the president of the Bank of Spain in Salamanca and it was a vehicle always driven by a chauffeur and very neatly treated. 

In 2018, most of the restoration work was carried out, including a new and quality paint job, repair of the underbody and cleaning up the rusty parts.

There is a small dent, barely noticeable, in the left front wing, caused when mounting the bonnet (see photo). The rest is in very good condition.

The interior upholstery is new, done in 2018 and it has no wear or scuff marks. The carpet and headliner are also new. The wooden parts were varnished. 

The dashboard, in the area of the starter handle, has a small crack in the wood that is barely noticeable, but it was caused by the use of the starter.

The engine is the original one of the vehicle and it had all the necessary parts replaced in order to run properly, the clutch is new and the 4-speed gearbox works smoothly.

Mechanically, the entire exhaust line has been replaced. The car has a new petrol tank fitted, with fuel level sensor. New copper radiator, mechanical and electric petrol pump, electric fan, 123 electronic ignition, carburettors repaired professionally, engine gaskets, etc.

The brake system is new, including the brake booster. The entire front end was repaired with new silentblocks.  Chrome in good condition, most of it is new. There are no works to foresee on this vehicle.
