I am offering for auction a superb mid 20th century oil on canvas ballet scene of three figures on a path, titled Harliquinade, by listed artist Carlotta Edwards, 1894-1977.  Signed bottom right and dated 1966. Painting measures 60.5 x 50.5 cm and the frame 73 x 63 cm. 

Condition is good. Please view all photos for accurate condition. Ready to hang.

Harlequinade is a charming two-act story ballet in the commedia dell'arte style, offering colorful characters, vivid sets and costumes. 

Carlotta Edwards was the daughter of the French painter Ferdinand Pourrier. She is very well known for her paintings of ballet scenes and exhibited at both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Paris Salon.
The Medici Society published many pints of her work and these are still widely available.
