Cord Royale from 1970.

Rare, original and eye-catching, this 1970 Cord Royale, equipped with a 5.9l Chrysler/Dodge V8 (the same as in Challengers and Chargers) and automatic gearbox, combining the charm of classic roadsters with the power and reliability of American muscle cars. 
Only 54,000 original miles, French collection registration.

Those who really know Cord know that this is not a replica. 
As with the Avanti, once the main production company closed its doors, true enthusiasts kept an iconic design alive under the official name.
 

So when the Sports Automobile Manufacturing Company (Samco) took over the production, the 810/812 line evolved into cars like the Royale.
 

It is over half a century old and still wears its factory red paint.
 It is still very attractive today.
 
There are no worries regarding rust on the bodywork thanks to the fibreglass, so it looks impeccable.
 
Beyond the basics, this one is fantastic because it has all the flair you need.


Bumpers, chrome wheels, exposed faux exhaust pipes and continental kit.

Underneath the beige convertible top is a tan vinyl interior, equally fantastic is the stunning matching pattern on the front seats, door panels and around the bench seat.
  

There is a large Stewart Warner speedometer and tachometer, and right underneath, in the centre, is the modern radio.
 You even have electric windows.


These larger Royale models were equipped with an optional Magnum 360 engine.
  
It has recently been fitted with a new carburettor, a full HEI electronic ignition overhaul, allowing the engine to start easily.
 
It runs smoothly when paired with the power steering and 727 Torque-flight three-speed automatic transmission.
 

But don't let its luxurious looks fool you.
 
Whenever you want to experience Mopar muscle, the dual glasspack-style exhaust will give you a nice throaty growl as you put your foot down!
