Schatz, opgericht in de jaren 1850, was jarenlang de toonaangevende fabrikant van klassieke scheepsinstrumenten.
Een mooie set bestaande uit een exemplaar compensated precision barometer met thermometer en een hygrometer, gemaakt in Duitsland in de jaren 90. Het toont een uitstekende afwerking, is volledig functioneel en verkeert in bijna nieuwstaat met slechts een kleine gebruikssporen (foto's). De gelakte messing behuizing is prima, zonder scheuren, deuken of grote oneffenheden. De wijzerplaat is in uitstekende staat. De deur is beveiligd met een messing sluiting. De facetgeslepen glazen poort is schoon en intact.
De barometer is gekalibreerd in zowel millibar als inches (kwikeenheden). Er is een fijne capillaire thermometer (Celsius/Fahrenheit). De barometer moet mogelijk na transport worden afgesteld, eenvoudig via de achterkant met een schroevendraaier. De hygrometer is qua uitvoering hetzelfde als de barometer en samen vormen ze een prachtige set.
Een geweldige kans om een van deze prachtige instrumenten te bezitten, voor gebruik thuis, op kantoor of aan boord van het schip.
