This is the "Yellow Fairy Book", the fourth book in Andrew Lang's popular 'Fairy Books' series.

This yellow volumes contains stories mostly hailing from the pen of Hans Christian Andersen.

Containing 'Thumbelina', 'How to tell a True Princess', 'The Story of Big Klaus and Little Klaus', 'Story of the Emperor's New Clothes', 'The Seven-Headed Serpent', 'The Six Swans', 'The Dragon of the North', and more.

Handsomely rebound in full dark mustard yellow morocco with gilt decorative spine (slightly sun-darkened); marbled endpapers, top edge gilt.Very occasionally stained, most at the beginning,normal for the age I would guess.

Andrew Lang is best known for these collections of fairy tales, and was an avid collector of folk and fairy tales. He was a Scottish poet, novelist, and literary critic.

Illustrated by Henry Justice Ford, a noted English illustrator who is best known for his beautiful illustrations for Lang's works.
