Beautiful fine and elaborate pair of 18th century silver 800 Altar Palm Leaves from Brazil.
Total height 60cm
Width of the palm leaves 20cm
Diameter vase 13cm and width with braces 23cm
Weight of a palm leave 350gr
Weight of the vase 2000gr, filled with heavy material for stability..
Bought in Sāo Paulo Brazil from a reputable antiquair, dated 18th century.
They have  signs of normal wear and tear and small defects as shown on the pictures.
These are rare collectors items, not too many pieces have survived from this period.
For comparison see the exceptional pair of altar palm leaves of Guggenheim’s Brazil Body and Soul exhibition in 2001/2002 in New York and Bilbao.
