  Paisley shawls were a fashionable item of women's clothing in the 19th century made of intricately woven and delicate wool. Although known as the Paisley pattern the teardrop motif originated from Kashmir  it became popular across Europe and Britain. 

 Reversible feature as the design is double sided creating a look of two different shawls in two different colours.

This  Paisley shawl displays Arabesque designed field predominately in burgundy on a dark grey ground followed by fringe elements on both sides.
Central cartouche feature. 


The shawl has a  vibrant Ruby red  colour palette that remains vivid despite age and usage.
