CARDATRICE MANUALE: periodo fine 1800 inizi 1900, lasciata volutamente con la patina originale senza restauri 

È un attrezzo di estrema precisione ed ha bisogno, per un corretto funzionamento, di un posizionamento molto equilibrato, altrimenti i denti posizionati sulla tavola fissa orizzontale batterebbero contro quelli della parte oscillante e la cardatura non potrebbe essere effettuata.
Si dispone la lana lavata sulla parte orizzontale della cardatrice e, con il movimento oscillante della parte superiore, la lana viene ridotta in piccoli fiocchi sciolti e soffici.

Nel corso della lavorazione, inoltre, vengono a cadere tutte le eventuali sostanze solide rimaste legata alla lana.
Il prodotto finito viene deposto in capienti cesti. Dopo di che le anziane filatrici provvedono alla realizzazione del filo ritorto.
I cardatori provenivano quasi tutti da Guardiagrele (prov. Chieti)

Nei periodi in cui si lavorava intensamente la lana, sia la parte fissa e quella oscillante erano completamente lucide, perni compresi, in quanto unti dal grasso che conteneva la stessa lana.

CONDIZIONI: buonissime, perfettamente funzionante, presenta segni del tempo, lasciato volutamente con la patina originale senza restauri (le foto sono parte integrante dell’offerta)
