Deze unieke Stripper Dune Buggy wordt geleverd met complete onderhoudshistorie, documentatie en recente facturen voor ca $8700. Daarnaast is de motor recent gereviseerd waardoor de auto direct klaar is voor gebruik.
De ‘Stripper Dune Buggy’ was een latere ontwikkeling op het buggy-thema en was feitelijk twee auto’s in één, zoals blijkt uit de ‘brochure’ van Corvair Cars. Door de buitenste carrosserie te verwijderen, bleef er een stevige duinrail met buizenframe over, die de ophanging, de motor en de aandrijflijn droeg.
De achterkant van de buggy geeft gemakkelijk toegang tot de VW-ophanging en motor, terwijl de aan de achterkant gemonteerde brandstoftank in het buizenframe boven de motor was geplaatst. Dit zorgde voor extra gewicht over de aangedreven wielen en was ook een veiligheidsvoorziening voor de buggy bij hard off-road rijden.
Een glasvezelvoering werd in het driehoekige stalen frame geschoven en vormde een houder voor de stoelen en de instrumentenconsole. Bevestigingen voor de stuurkolom, versnellingspook, pedalen en kabelbehuizingen bevestigd aan het metalen frame. Netjes en functioneel, de ‘Stripper Dune Buggy’ is echt een buggy voor twee doeleinden.
De wagen start direct, schakelt soepel en krachtig door alle versnellingen heen, loopt mooi stationair en remt naar behoren. De 54 PK krachtige VW motor geeft meer dan genoeg vermogen voor deze light weight buggy, echt een ervaring om in te rijden!
Verder staat de auto nog erg goed in zijn opvallende gele lak (m.u.v. enkele kleine imperfecties) en verkeerd het interieur nog in erg nette staat,
