Walter Bosse (1904–1979) war ein österreichischer Designer und Bildhauer, bekannt für seine charakteristischen handgefertigten Messingfiguren und -objekte. Er wurde in Wien (Österreich) geboren und studierte an der Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule unter namhaften Künstlern wie Josef Hoffmann und Michael Powolny. In den 1920er Jahren begann er seine Karriere mit der Gestaltung von Keramikfiguren, die schnell große Beliebtheit erlangten.

Bosse verfolgte den Anspruch, Kunstwerke zu schaffen, die sowohl ästhetisch als auch funktional waren. In den 1950er Jahren entwickelte er die berühmte “Black-Gold” Technik, bei der er oxidiertes Messing mit goldfarbenen Akzenten kombinierte. Seine Tierfiguren, darunter Igel, Eulen und Katzen, wurden zu seinen bekanntesten Werken. Heute gelten seine Werke als Sammlerstücke und Klassiker des Mid-Century-Designs.
