A very nicely carved pail green colored (untested) jade Archer's Ring (扳指). The ring is decorated with deeply carved Chilong Dragons, one holding a russet colored Lingzhi mushroom in his mouth. 

In Manchu archery, the bowstring is drawn using the thumb of the right hand, making a thumb ring an indispensable tool for protecting the thumb and ensuring a seamless release of the arrow. Beyond their functional purpose, thumb rings also served as personal adornments. While Manchu archers, including high-ranking aristocrats, preferred plain thumb rings made of bone or antler for hunting and warfare, they often opted for elaborately decorated rings crafted from delicate or valuable materials such as jade, amber, or ivory on other occasions.

Chilong (螭龍), one of the nine sons of the dragon, is a legendary creature celebrated in Chinese culture as a symbol of strength, influence, and majesty. In this depiction, the two chilong are intricately carved into dynamic, flowing "S" shapes. Their symmetrical design embodies harmony and balance, reflecting a deeply interconnected and symbiotic relationship.

In good condition. Possibly a small repair on the tail of one Chilong.
