Masque - bois - chokwe - Angola 

Les Tchokwés (ou Tschokwe ou Chokwe) sont un peuple d'Afrique centrale et australe, surtout présent en République démocratique du Congo et en Angola, et à un moindre degré en Zambie. Quelques milliers vivent aussi en Namibie. Le masque Cihongo est la version masculine du masque Mwana Pwo. Les similitudes de style sont évidentes dans le traitement des traits du visage : le grand front bombé, dégagé, marqué de la croix de Saint André, les oreilles parfois ornées de boucles de métal, les yeux mi-clos et les marques de« larmes », la même forme du nez, la bouche aux dents épointées mise en valeur. Le Cihongo est la représentation d’un esprit masculin évoquant puissance et richesse.
