Nuria González Alcaide - In between N4
Kant said: “Lack of memory is like a leaky barrel, in which everything that goes in comes out, and that is why it is necessary to fixate through the traces left by experience. This fixation of traces situates us in time and without it we would not be able to understand the struggle against that human-inhuman phenomenon that is forgetfulness.”
Where does everything we don't remember but that lives inside us go? Those memories that the brain chooses not to remember, but that are part of us unconsciously. With this series of works, Nuria wants to give a space to those memories that are part of us but, in some way, not.

QUEER:
The R.A.R.O. International Artistic Residency Programme has been created to generate spaces for the exchange, creation and dissemination of contemporary artistic projects. It introduces a Multi-Residency format that has the particularity of being itinerant. That is, it offers the opportunity to work in a network of workshops of different disciplines in the city, in addition to complementing its projects at Casa R.A.R.O., its new headquarters located in the centre of Barcelona. National and international artists, curators and cultural managers develop their projects in the different R.A.R.O. workshops in the city of Barcelona, and at the same time talks, meetings, visits and exhibitions are generated that complement each project.
