Deze bijzondere batikstempels zijn authentieke ambachtelijke gereedschappen afkomstig uit Indonesië, waar ze werden gebruikt in het traditionele batikproces. Elke stempel is met de hand gemaakt van fijngevormd koper/metaal op een houten frame en toont een uniek decoratief patroon – van florale motieven tot sierlijke vogelvormen. Ze zijn bevestigd op een elegante standaard, wat ze perfect maakt als kunstobject of decoratief item.

In de batikkunst worden deze stempels – ook wel cap genoemd – gebruikt om hete was in patronen op textiel aan te brengen. De was dient als resist bij het verven van de stof, waardoor de patronen onbedekt blijven en uiteindelijk een prachtig batikmotief ontstaat. Deze techniek is eeuwenoud en wordt nog steeds beoefend op eilanden als Java en Bali.

De stempels in deze set tonen duidelijke sporen van gebruik, wat hun authenticiteit en karakter alleen maar versterkt. Ze zijn een eerbetoon aan vakmanschap en geschiedenis, en passen prachtig in een interieur met een etnische, bohemien of kunstzinnige uitstraling.

De afmetingen zijn 12 x 11 x 14 en 16 x 9 x 29 cm.
