About the author: Adriano Perini was born in Trieste in 1948. He began taking photographs at the age of 15, but only in 1972 did he find photography as the right tool to express his personality. A stay in Central America that took him to Guatemala, Honduras and Belize in 1980, significantly influenced his photographic growth, combining it with travel reportage. This work was presented in a Latin American film festival curated by Gianni Minà, at the Rivolil cinema in Milan and curated by Giovanni Sansone for the Padiglione d'Arte contemporanea. He had important experiences in the Middle East (Egypt and Turkey) where he discovered Islamic culture and architecture. His love for nature and interest in architecture are the basis of Adriano Perini's work. He visited Morocco and southern Spain, continuing his personal investigation of Islamic architecture and gardens. After several trips to southern Europe and the United States, he inserted the human element into his landscape. In 1997 he published Sicilia, dedicated to the island and its inhabitants. He exhibits with Campigotto and Mulas in the same year. He exhibits in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Lombardy, Rome and Graz. In 2000 the CRAF dedicates a personal exhibition to the photographer curated by Guido Cecere. Italo Zannier chooses some of his images of gardens to portray the Friulian landscape. In 2002 he holds some lessons on landscape photography at the Circolo Fotografico Triestino. In 2005, as co-founder of EPHIAP, he creates an exhibition on the Municipal Botanical Garden. He founds the Photo Imago Association in 1983 with the aim of spreading the contemporary photographic heritage among the regions of Central Europe through the organization of personal and non-personal exhibitions. His works are preserved in institutions and private collections in Italy and abroad.
