NAD 3030 serviced and in wonderful condition
This amplifier is a real gem, small by sizes, but big hearted. The sound is what made NAD famous for – gorgeous middle and sweet treble, tight bass and impressive soundstage. The 3030 is a pretty pleasant thing to listen to. It produce 30 watts per channel, but in reality the power seems to be much more. This is the last beautiful amp, produced by New Acoustic Dimensions, you know how the next model, famous 3020 looks like. 3030 is the first amplifier, made by NAD in Taiwan, after move there from Japan in 1976, with solid build quality. The new NAD C3050, which celebrates the 50-th anniversary of the company is a modern version of 3030.
The amp has traditional for the company dark faceplate. In very good condition – visually and functionally. Just a small spot of peeled painting left from the VU you can find, visible on the attached photos. You can really enjoy touching, pushing and rotating the knobs. The volume knob clicks on every step – amazing feeling! Wooden cabinet is also great. It was sanded, painted and lacked. The twin, large power meters are really eye catcher.
You have inputs for phono (split-rail phono stage!), tuner, AUX and 2 tape decks. Two sets of speakers could be hooked up.
The unit was serviced earlier this year with replacing some necessary parts and fully recapped Phono section. Now every function works as should be. Two silicon transistors per channel. The Service manual is a printed copy.
