American Twins (With OBI)” is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Shinichiro Kobayashi, who has been active as a leading landscape photographer since the 1990s. Since 1991, he has been producing landscapes based on the theme of scrap and build. His works such as “DEATHTOPIA: Ruin Games” (1998), “Ruin Drifting” (2001), and “Ruins” (2003) have been especially popular as they led to the “Ruin Boom”. His other works on Gunkanjima (Gunkan Island) are also very famous, but this book is a second book, a collection of portraits that is unique for Kobayashi. It is based on the theme of “twins” in America, and contains many unique works.
