Authentic Comtoise clock – France, circa 1830–1850 – Complete with weights and pendulum
A beautiful, original French Comtoise clock from the second half of the 19th century. This classic wall clock is a fine example of traditional craftsmanship and is in complete condition – including original weights, pendulum, and hands.

Country of origin: France

Style: Typical Comtoise with a richly decorated brass front plate

Decoration: relief featuring peacocks, grapes, and a floral motif.

Movement: weight-driven eight-day mechanism

Percussion: Bell strike – marks the full hours and half-hours

including

Two original cast-iron weights.

Original brass garland

Original hands

Bell and rope construction

The clock is complete and original, with usual signs of age such as light oxidation and patina.
