In de vroege jaren 1930 was Singer, na Austin en Morris, een van Groot-Brittannië's grootste autofabrikanten. Ze stonden bekend om hun succesvolle deelname aan competitieve evenementen, waarbij ze met de Sport- en Le Mans-versies van de Nine de concurrentie aangingen. Het hoogtepunt kwam met de introductie van de 1½-Litre Sports in 1933, gebaseerd op het bestaande zescilinder 14pk-model. Een jaar later, in 1934, volgde de Le Mans versie, die indruk maakte met een 7e en 8e plaats op de legendarische 24 uursrace. Hoewel de auto niet kon tippen aan Aston Martins en Rileys in endurance races, was de 1½-litre Singer een geduchte concurrent in proeven, rally’s en andere competities. Slechts enkele exemplaren hebben de tand des tijds doorstaan, waardoor deze auto een zeldzame verschijning uit de jaren 30 van de vorige eeuw blijft.

Algemeen:

Onze Singer is een heel mooi exemplaar met prachtig gedocumenteerde historie en verkeert nog in een hele nette en verzorgde staat, waarbij elk detail de rijke geschiedenis van de Singer 1½ Litre Tourer benadrukt. In het verleden onderging deze Singer restauratie- en revisiewerkzaamheden en bij deze auto leveren we fantastische foto’s uit het verleden, inclusief zwart-wit foto’s, waardoor deze Singer een rijke historie kent. Met slechts twaalf exemplaren gebouwd is dit met recht een zeldzaamheid.

Carrosserie & Lakwerk:

Het exterieur is verzorgd, met een nette lak die goed onderhouden is. De carrosseriepanelen sluiten heel mooi aan, en het chroomwerk verkeert nog in zeer mooie staat. De ruiten zijn helder en onbeschadigd, waardoor de auto zijn klassieke uitstraling behoudt.

Interieur:

Binnenin biedt de auto prachtige bekleding die keurig is onderhouden. Alles functioneert naar behoren, van de bedieningselementen tot de verlichting. Het interieur ademt de sfeer van vroeger, met authentieke details die de nostalgische charme versterken.

Technisch:

Technisch gezien is deze Singer 1½ Litre Tourer in een goede staat verkerend. Voorzien van een originele zescilinder Le Mans motor, heeft de auto een grondige restauratie ondergaan om zijn prestaties te optimaliseren. Het rijden met deze klassieker is een ervaring op zich, waarbij elk aspect van de auto perfect in balans is en u terugvoert naar een tijdperk van vakmanschap en elegantie.

Documenten:

Uitgebreide documentatie is aanwezig, waaronder dus oude foto's, registratiedocumenten en gedetailleerde papieren, en ondersteunt daarmee de fascinerende geschiedenis van deze Singer 1½ Litre Tourer. Elk stukje papierwerk vertelt een verhaal, waardoor deze auto niet alleen een voertuig is, maar een tastbaar stukje autogeschiedenis.
