Art Nouveau Argentor Vienna Centerpiece – Elegant Egyptian Revival Design

This exquisite Art Nouveau centerpiece by Argentor-Werke of Vienna is a remarkable example of late 19th and early 20th-century craftsmanship. The piece features a solid nickel silver (NS) frame with intricate Egyptian Revival motifs, most notably a striking scarab beetle at its center. The symmetrical design, paired with an elegant glass insert, makes this a versatile decorative piece for both vintage and modern interiors.

With a very tiny crack on one corner that has been professionally strengthen and restored by Stadler family manufacturing company whose expertise dates back hundreds of years in glass industry. See last photo. Has no impact on the appearance and the solidness of the glass. 

Crafted around 1890-1900, this antique centerpiece showcases the distinctive Jugendstil aesthetic, with detailed geometric cutouts and openwork handles. The brass-toned metalwork and its refined patina give the piece a timeless appeal, while the stylized shell patterns evoke the organic forms popular during the period. The metal frame is sturdy, yet the design remains light and graceful, suitable for display on a dining table, sideboard, or within a curated antique collection.

The scarab motif and ornamental borders reflect the widespread fascination with Egyptian art during the Art Nouveau movement.
