Beautiful vintage French chess set, labeled "Jeu d’Échecs – Édition Luxe", manufactured in the 1950s in France. The set comes complete with its original crocodile-textured folding board, red velvet insert, and all 32 pieces.

The pieces are made of Bakelite, a collectible early plastic, featuring detailed medieval designs: knights in armor, kings, queens, bishops and pawns in period dress. Each piece has a green felt base.

Board size: 42 × 42 cm (folded: 42 × 21 cm)

Piece height: from 4.5 cm (pawn) to 7.5 cm (king)
