A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Io Bap. Rogerius Bon Nicolai Amati de Cremona alumnus Brixiae fecit Anno Domini 1695. The instrument is in restorable condition with many bad repaired cracks. The violin has high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. The inlaid purfling is a tasteful work of good craftsmanship, just as the shining, golden brown varnish. 

The one piece maple back measures 357 mm. 
The total length of the violin is 591 mm. 
The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm.
