Verzilverde beker met monogram ‘LH’ – SM&H, Engeland, ca. 1900–1925

Cilindrisch beker met geprofileerde voetring en uitstaande liprand, aan de voorzijde gegraveerd met het verweven monogram LH in sierlijk cursief. Het betreft een verzilverde uitvoering; de zilverlaag is naar schatting voor circa 75% intact. De binnenzijde is door de jaren heen donker en vuil aangeslagen; aan de liprand zijn enkele lichte deukjes en gebruikskrasjes zichtbaar.

Keurmerken en datering
Onderzijde met een vijfdelig stempel. Links een schild-cartouche met de initialen SM&H (fabrikantsteken van een Engelse electroplate-maker; deze initialen komen voor bij Sheffieldse plate-producenten uit het vroege 20e-eeuwse tijdvak). Daarnaast vier kleine, achthoekige cartouches met gotische letters. Dit zijn pseudo-hallmarks of fabriekscodes die bij electroplate werden gebruikt voor kwaliteit/serie en soms interne jaarkoppeling; het zijn géén wettelijke gehaltestempels (er ontbreekt o.a. de lion passant). Op stijl- en merkindicatie te dateren in het begin 20e eeuw, Edwardiaanse periode.
