Silver seal matrix engraved with coat of arms – 18th/19th century
Beautiful silver seal (tested), featuring a large oval plate finely engraved with coats of arms: a shield charged with three horizontal bands, each topped with a stylized animal head or bust, surrounded by a baroque vegetal decor. Above, a crest depicting a standing animal completes the heraldic ensemble.
The engraving is deep, precise, typical of the work of goldsmith or noble locksmith workshops from the late 18th or very early 19th century. The back face shows a hexagonal assembly made by hand, with tool marks consistent with handcrafted manufacture.
Dimensions matrix 2.2 cm x 2 cm
Good overall condition, normal wear and tear. Visible welding lines on the crown (typical of vintage molds). Engraving perfectly legible.
