Two Mauchline Ware Souvenir Pieces – Largs Views & Castles, circa 1880
A fine pair of late 19th century Scottish Mauchline ware items, circa 1880, comprising a rectangular table-top storage box with hinged lid and brass clasp, together with a cylindrical needle case. Each piece is decorated with transfer-printed views of Largs and its environs, including Fairlie Castle, Kelburne Castle, and Largs from the Battery. The box retains its original blue paper-lined interior. Good warm patina with age-related wear, typical of genuine examples. Attractive and collectable pieces of Scottish treen from the famous Mauchline ware tradition.
