Antiguo textil ritual IKAT de Savu (Indonesia) – algodón tejido a mano con tintes naturales – 275 x 86 cm + flecos – ca. 1930-1940

Antiguo textil ceremonial originario de la isla de Savu, Indonesia, tejido a mano con hilos de algodón teñido con pigmentos naturales mediante la tradicional técnica ikat de urdimbre. La palabra “SAVU” aparece tejida en el reverso, indicando su procedencia original.

La pieza mide 275 x 86 cm, con +10 cm de flecos anudados a mano en cada extremo (295 x 86 cm total). Su peso es de 502 g. 

El diseño está compuesto por bandas horizontales que presentan figuras simbólicas: ciervos con astas ramificadas, animales mitológicos, figuras humanas, aves y motivos rituales como árboles y urnas sagradas, representando el vínculo entre lo terrenal y lo espiritual.

Este tipo de tejido se utilizaba en rituales importantes: bodas, funerales, ceremonias de iniciación o intercambio entre clanes. Está en buen estado general de conservación, con dos restauraciones pequeñas y discretas, apenas visibles.

Una pieza auténtica de alto valor etnográfico, decorativo y coleccionista.
