One of 1212 bottles!

This limited edition release from Highland Park celebrates Orkney-born explorer, John Rae.

Just 1,212 bottles have been released, from casks laid down in 2004 and earlier and tipped in 2021, on the anniversary of John Rae’s birth on 30 September. Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, selected predominantly ex-bourbon and refill casks, with smaller quantities of their hallmark sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, to deliver a deliciously bold and complex flavour profile of toasted vanilla, caramelised grapefruit and honeyed peat smoke. 

John Rae, the Orkney-born explorer, is today regarded as the leading authority on Arctic travel and survival in the Victorian era. This whisky’s distinctive packaging was designed with specially commissioned illustrations from Nick Hayes, whose expressive work is influenced by his passion for harmony with land and sea. Proceeds from the sale supporteted the restoration of the Hall of Clestrain, John Rae’s boyhood home in Orphir, Orkney.

Bottle, labels and box are in perfect condition, excellent fill-level. Bottle has always been stored upright and inside box.
