Zeldzame aardglobe uit het begin van de 20e eeuw (circa 1910). Ontworpen door C.L. van Balen en uitgegeven door J.B. Wolters Groningen, producent van educatieve materialen. Deze  globe werd dan ook gebruikt door studenten. 

De globe staat in een blikken rond frame met hierop de maanden, meridianen, windrichtingen en de dierenriem. Dit armatuur werd gemaakt door een speelgoedfabriek in Dordrecht: wed. J. Bekkers & Zoon.

De totale afmeting van de globe is circa 16x16x16cm. Het gewicht bedraagt 200 gram. 

Hoewel de globe zeer decoratief is en historische waarde heeft, heeft de tand des tijds zijn sporen nagelaten. Zo is de verf op het armatuur afgesleten en zijn de kleuren op de globe vervaagd. Bekijk de foto's voor een goede indruk van de staat van dit object.
