Pierre gravée à la croix occitane, datée 1732- XVIIIe - France

Origine : Sud de la France, probablement Languedoc ou région toulousaine

Bloc de pierre quadrangulaire irrégulier, gravé d’une croix occitane (croix de Toulouse) finement tracée et décorée de hachures intérieures. Autour de la croix, douze perforations circulaires évoquent les douze apôtres.

La partie supérieure porte la date 1732, incisée nettement. 
Cette datation situe l’objet dans le XVIIIe siècle, période où la croix occitane s’affirme comme emblème identitaire et religieux dans le sud de la France.

Il s’agit probablement d’un élément architectural ou funéraire, destiné à marquer une sépulture, une maison ou un édifice religieux.

État : patine ancienne, surface usée et cohérente avec l’âge. Éclats et érosion sur les bords.
