【Challenging Factory Machines with Unique Ideas】
Developed to dominate the Group 5 racing car Manufacturers’ World Championship that began in 1976, the Porsche 935 clinched the title in its debut year. From 1977, it was sold to prominent private teams, dominating races alongside factory machines. Among them, the Kremer Racing team’s machine, sponsored by German heating and air conditioning specialist Vaillant, stood out with its uniquely modified, aggressive body and a 670-horsepower air-cooled flat-six turbo engine. Adorned in Vaillant’s vibrant cobalt green corporate color and featuring the company’s rabbit mascot on various parts, it was a striking presence. In July 1977, at the 8th round of the Manufacturers’ World Championship, the Hockenheim 6-hour race, it outshone factory machines to claim victory. Additionally, it secured four wins in the DRM (German Racing Car Championship) held in Germany, earning acclaim as one of the finest privately-run 935s.
